The Armor Of God Is Described In Isaiah
Background:
When God comes on the
Day of Destruction, He is described as wearing armor:
Isaiah 59:17
He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; and he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a mantle.
The Messiah is described in similar terms.
Isaiah 11:5
Righteousness will be tied around his loin,
and truth the belt of his waist.
The False Teaching:
God would destroy the Gentile nations on the
Day of Destruction and the armor of God was part of the wrath imagery the false teachers were using to try to bring Gentiles into the
Way of the Flesh.
