who is a pledge of our inheritance The Holy Spirit acts as a down payment of our inheritance. This is not to be confused with God's inheritance.

to the redemption of God’s own possession As mentioned in Eph. 1:13, the Holy Spirit marks believers in Christ as God's inheritance. They are His possession.

to the praise of his glory The false teachers thought glory would be brought to the Jews when they received their inheritance in the new age. Paul explains that the expansion of God's inheritance beyond Jews only, brings glory to God.
